In 1986 Pilgrim Airlines (Groton/New London), which itself had acuired NewAir (New Haven) a year prior, was acquired by BEX. The carrier became one of Delta Air Lines's first Delta Connection carriers in 1987, along with ASA, Comair and SkyWest Airlines.
